| The Paua Room was created in 2001.
Our aim is to celebrate New Zealand and provide our customers with quality products that will be cherished for many years to come. A concept store which was new to Helensville, a historic township 35 minutes from Auckland CBD.
In the beginning… as a small gift boutique we specialised mostly in Paua Jewellery and New Zealand and Pacific inspired art, craft and gifts. The shop was originally located in The Regent picture theatre, a 1920s art deco theatre, widely known as one of the outstanding historical feature buildings of Helensville.
We added a small NZ made clothing range which we have since expanded on to include selected imported ranges that compliment the look and feel of our designer store. When a new larger store became available we moved in 2002.
We moved to our current location at 6 Commercial Road in September 2008. Our new store is spacious and beautiful, with stunning views over the Kaipara River. Large spacious fitting rooms and an even greater range of fashion and gifts make us a very beguiling place to shop for that something special or different. New Zealand fashion, gifts, skincare and local art remain our specialty.
Our range now incorporates some beautiful imported product as well as the best from Aotearoa. The boutique has grown from strength to strength thanks to the support of our customers who enjoy the quality products available at our store.
Jewellery and accessories compliment the wonderful gift and clothing selection, our pieces celebrate our love of all things Aotearoa. We also stock some of the funkiest fashion jewellery availble!
However we are not just about celebrating our roots and being constantly inspired by the beauty of the land (and water) which surrounds us! Our selection process means our clothes are wearable and beautiful. Our gifts are great for Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas, to treat someone special, yourself, or to send overseas… in all a beautiful selection awaits you at The Paua Room. Call in soon to see for yourself why everyone is talking about The Paua Room!
